5 Wellesley Park|find edges; accented edges

#5 Wellesley Park

I blogged a version of this series of four Park St.-Wellesley Park photographs I took almost eight years ago during summer 2000 on Preservation Project; each image similarly finessed with find edges and poster filters. These new versions feature find edge and accented edge filters. (I'll link everything back and forth soon.) Oh, btw, I actually have about another dozen pictures of Nick's garden as well as a couple dozen B&W photos of houses on Wellesley Park, including #67 WP that won a 1st place blue, best in class and best in show in summer 2007's county fair, but there's something almost iconic about this particular group.

b&w collage 02

b & w collage 02

it's also from a b & w photograph, though the original collage is/was color-full. for details, the notes from collage 01 apply equally to this one.

b&w collage 01

b & w collage 01for both this image and the next one, b&w collage 02, i began by scanning in 24-bit color the original b&w photo of a mainly magazine, greeting card and related ephemera cut-and-paste collage. successfully, i believe(!) i tweaked the perspective to something close to the way the original presented on the wall, applied a sharpen filter (1x) and then adjusted curves, brightness and contrast and the image color to black and white rather than converting back to grayscale. as usual, the pc display is darker than on the mac, and so far this one is more successful than 02, but when i have a few minutes i'll work more on both.

photographs trilogy

quails

horse and trees

sandpipersThis morning I scanned and cleaned up this wonderful trilogy of photographs from ages ago. I am very happy with the results, so I decided to blog them here. Even though I didn't take the photographs, I did the photoshopping, so in that sense I can claim ownership.

Harwich Scrapbook - cover

I'm planning to upload my 13 Harwich scrapbook pages to one of my domain names, but before doing that I want to check out the appearance of some of the pages. I've been working on the cover this morning.

Harwich 02

Showing the really original state of the house, here's the second page of my Harwich scrapbook...

Harwich originals

Harwich 01

Harwich scrapbook coverThis is the cover page of my analog Harwich scrapbook; I've digitized all 13 pages and made 3 or 4 (so far) additional pages from slices of those. I'd tried uploading png images to Photobucket but given the size of the originals they were so huge it looked as if nothing was happening, so I saved them out to the default jpg for file sizes 1/5 or 1/6 of the size of the png images—they all look fine to me online! As soon as I finish my Advent Study proposal and get some time in the puter lab, I'm going to make a pdf site and upload it to one of my domain names.
